Thanks to CT scanning, industry has the opportunity to see inside the products in development and production. CT scanning allows revolutionary opportunities and it is therefore of great interest to the producing companies in various industries. However, the technology is not yet fully developed, since it is still associated with problems of achievable accuracy, traceability, robustness and usability, especially when it comes to industrial products with close tolerances. Moreover, some aspects connected to computing speed data processing and post-processing, etc. are unresolved. Research within the project has dealt with the development of new methods, calibration items, algorithms, software, etc. which can make CT scan an advanced equipment for coordinate measurement in manufacturing but also new beam sources and signal coditioning for application within food science. In addiction, the project has also addressed to solve extreme problems with computer speeds and apply CT scanning to food production.
